this is a series of landscapes i took in bosnia i hercegovina in the summer of 2011.

the first image is titled, 'line of sight'. the outcrop masks an amandoned eagle's nest from which soldiers shot down upon the town below. abandoned since the end of the war, the site is littered with defensive anti-personel mines. where the field stops, the minefield begins. between 1991 and 1995 more than 750,000 mines were laid, the vast majority of which still remain uncleared.
